2011 NAMI Walk in Iowa City

I'm writing to you  about the 2011 NAMI walk, which is very important to me.
NAMI (the National Alliance on Mental Illness) helps me and my spouse Willa live with mental illness, which affects our family deeply.

Once again Willa and I are part of team "Prozac Monologues", named after her excellent blog that chronicles her walk with depression and bipolar disorder.  It is educational, interesting, and darned good reading!

We will be missing an important team member this year -

we lost our wonder dog Mazie on March 1st, and I'm walking in her memory.

You can read more about her at my blog "Pilgrim Spirit"

Please visit my personal walker page to donate:

Donating online is fast and secure, and I'll get an immediate e-mail of your donation.  You can also mail a check or cash:
P. O. Box 3087
Iowa City, IA   52244-3087

The goals of the NAMIWalks program are: to fight the stigma that surrounds mental illness, to build awareness that the mental health system in this country needs to be improved, and to raise funds for NAMI so that they can continue their mission.

NAMI is a 501(c)3 charity - your donation is tax deductible.  NAMI has been given an "A" rating by The American Institute of Philanthropy for efficient, effective use of charitable dollars

Thanks in advance for your support!

Take care,
Helen
